A DISTINCTIVE three-legged cat has mysteriously disappeared.

Since leaving home for a daily visit to neighbours, the well-loved feline failed to return and has not been seen since.

Tiegan O’Sullivan, 13, from Wilbury Avenue, Hove, is deeply upset by the disappearance of three-legged Mog.

The ten-year-old tabby went missing from her home in central Hove in October.

Her distinctive look occurred after her leg was amputated due to cancer.

Tiegan’s mum, Francesca Garlake, said Mog went out one day and just did not come back.

Ms Garlake, Tiegan and his two brothers Quinn, six, and Callum, 14, explored the neighbourhood and put up more than 50 posters after which Francesca received dozens of messages from well wishers.

Ms Garlake said: “I had texts from people after I put up the posters saying how friendly she was and how much she was missed.”

Tiegan said: “When we have a hard day, we think about our special three-legged cat and it helps us to remember that even though things might be hard, it gets better.“ He is still hoping Mog will return and will not let anyone take the posters down.

Tiegan added: “It would be like we’re giving up.”

Ms Garlake said: “Tiegan finds the not knowing what happened really hard.

“She was microchipped, so if she’d died and her body found we’d know, so there’s still hope.”

Brave Mog returned home from the operation which left her with a missing limb with all her fur shaved from the lower half of her body Tiegan added: “She couldn’t balance and kept falling over when she tried to walk.”

If anyone has any information about what might have happened to Mog please call Ms Garlake on 07722 172931.
