WOULD-BE robbers knocked a man to the ground with a blow to the back of his head and tried to steal his wallet.

The 34-year-old Worthing man was walking home along Richmond Road on Saturday, February 21, when he was approached from behind at about 2am.

He fell to the ground and hit his face before one of the men kicked him in the ribs. The two men both then tried to steal his wallet and phone but were interrupted by a passing car.

The victim was shocked and bruised but made his way home and did not receive medical attention.

They are both described as white, over 6', of average build, in their twenties and wearing dark clothing.
