A cyclist suffered a life-threatening head injury when he collided with another group of riders.
Four men were cycling in Skinners Lane, Catsfield, just before 8pm on Sunday when two of them collided and fell from their bikes.
One of the men, a 52-year-old man also from Catsfield, sustained serious injuries including a fractured pelvis and spine, internal injuries and a life-threatening head injury.
He was airlifted to St George's Hospital in London where he remained in a critical condition today.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, saw the group of cyclists around that time or has information about the incident is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting Operation Burgundy.
