GREEN-Fingered pupils got their hands dirty planting the trees at their school orchard.
Pupils from Westdene Primary in Brighton will turn the outside area of their school into a fruit-growing oasis thanks to funding from a carbon offset programme.
They hope that in the future the fruit grown in their orchard can be enjoyed by the whole community – not just the school.
Carbon emissions generated through air travel by staff at Haywards Heath-based engineering consultancy firm Royal HaskoningDHV will be turned into trees for the school’s orchard.
