Hundreds of people took a step back in time when they attended the first vintage fair of the year at the Corn Exchange.

Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair returned to Brighton with more than 40 stalls, a vintage tea-room and live music.

Flora Simpson, one of the event organisers, said: “We love coming back to Brighton – so many people here have a passion for the vintage way of life it makes it a joy to travel here and meet everyone.”

New for this year, the travelling show included more vintage homeware stalls as well as the traditional clothes and jewellery normally associated with Lou Lou’s.

Shopper Julia O’Brien, 42, of Brighton, said: “I love every-thing to do with vintage.

“It takes you back to a more pleasant time and you can find some great unique pieces which were made with a better quality of fabric you just don’t get any more.

“I try to come every year and I always seem to find something different.”

Trader Debbie Day, of Ditzy Vintage, said: “With every item there is a tale, a story and provenance; all these clothes were bought for a reason, maybe a special occasion or not but somebody wanted them.

“I love how when people are buying vintage they are continuing making memories in the clothes.”

Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair has been held in Brighton for the last two years.

It will return Sunday, April 19 from 11am to 4pm at the Corn Exchange, entry £2.
