University of Sussex students turned the air the colours of the rainbow to recreate the Hindu festival of ‘Holi’.

The students marked the midpoint of the university’s One World Week, covering themselves in coloured powder in the process.

Chi Chan, 21, a student from Westminster, London, said the event was 'spontaneous, fun, colourful and messy'

Gathered at the university’s Jubilee Square, around 600 students threw caution and the brightly coloured powder to the wind.
