A SCAFFOLDING firm boss has been fined after his company put up structures without permission.
BN Scaffolding Ben Newton has received fines and costs totalling £2,450 after pleading guilty to placing two scaffolds on the public highway without permission.
Magistrates heard that in December highway enforcement officers from Brighton and Hove City Council noticed unlicensed scaffolding outside properties in Gloucester Road and Melville Road in Brighton which had been standing for several weeks.
Newton, of South Farm Road in Worthing, was fined £700 on each of the two matters together with £980 costs and a victim surcharge of £70.
