SAPLING snatchers have struck again with another one hundred trees stolen.
The trees belonging to Agrifactors, based in Heathfield, were stolen from one of their sites near Berwick this week.
Chris Davis, director at Agrifactors, said the thieves had made off with 103 two-year-old saplings.
The thieves left the growing canes in place but also made off with the rabbit protectors – as well as four honeysuckle plants.
Mr Davis said: “It is very strange and we were absolutely dumbfounded – we could not think why you would do it.”
The theft follows another two incidents where thieves raided the Lewes to Ringmer cycle track twice in a week, stealing 100 trees.
They were stolen after the trees were planted along the track by forestry firm Bonny’s Woods.
Anyone with information about the theft near the Ringmer Parish border should call 101 quoting serial 294 of March 30.
