Detectives are appealing for anyone with information after the burglary at a house in Ladysmith Road, Brighton. The break-in was reported at around 5.50pm on Tuesday, when the victim, Colin Watts, 69, returned home.

He left his home around midday before returning to find his kitchen window smashed. Once inside a search was done of the house, including upstairs and downstairs.

Thieves stole three rings, his wife Brenda's wedding, engagement and eternity ring and around £800 in cash was stolen which was money saved for her funeral on Wednesday (April 8). A laptop, an Asus tablet and two commemorative coins from the Queen's coronation were also taken.
