Popular free ping pong tables are bouncing back to Brighton and Hove, with four new tables arriving just in time for summer.

The new tables at The Level, Wish Park, Preston Park and Hove Lawns Cafe will bring the total across the city to 45. Anyone can use the tables and bats, which are provided by Brighton and Hove City Council, PING! and Brighton City Table Tennis Club, free of charge and with no booking necessary.

The council’s sports and physical activity manager Jan Sutherland said: “Table tennis has already proved popular in the city and now we’re adding even more tables at popular locations so that more people have more opportunities to get active.

“Walk through one of our parks and pick up a bat to play, or head on to the seafront where you will also find ping pong tables.”
