A WOMAN was rescued from her car following a crash on the A27 westbound.
Her car is thought to have hit the central barrier and possibly a van, just past the Kingston roundabout, near Lewes, shortly after 8.30am.
She was trapped in the car, a spokesman for Sussex Police said, but was conscious and breathing.
It is not known if or how badly the woman, thought to be in her mid-twenties, is injured.
Traffic congestion built in the area and motorists were advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes if possible.
