MOVE aside Paxman – this confident five-year-old is asking Westminster hopefuls all the right questions.

Do you like the film Frozen? And are you going on a summer holiday?

A video of Alana Grace Cottee grilling a pair of prospective parliamentary candidates should have the former Newsnight man quaking in his boots.

Alana, dressed as Princess Anna from the film Frozen, spent time quizzing Crawley constituency hopefuls Henry Smith and Chris Oxlade on the things that matter to her most.

But her hilarious five minute interview is not just concerned with Disney princesses and dreams of summer vacations.

The sprightly youngster asked the politicians their thoughts on the NHS, immigration and even ways to improve her home town, Crawley.

When The Argus asked the youngster which politician she preferred – Labour’s Chris Oxlade or Tory Henry Smith – she giggled, then replied: “I think Henry.”

But Mr Smith will have to wait for Alana’s vote at the ballot box as she is of course too young.

She added: “They were lots of fun and very kind. I think 90 people have ‘liked’ it on YouTube. One of my friends watched it and she laughed too.”

Alana’s mum Nanette said: “The boys who made the video, Will and George from Royalty Three, are Alana’s cousins. They were aware of her amazing ability to hold a room to attention.

“She’s a character and the video is very funny. The way it is edited is great and it certainly helps me understand a lot of things when it comes to who I could vote for, especially when Alana asked them how to improve Crawley and so on.”

Ever the professional, after hearing their answers, Alana offered them the once-in-a-life-time chance to see her party trick. She then proceeded to show the pair how she could touch her nose with her tongue.

Like Jeremy, she won’t let it go...

Alana: I’m going to do the register. Is Henry here?

Henry Smith (Tory): Good morning miss

Alana: Is Chris here?

Chris Oxlade (Labour): Here miss.

Alana: I’m going to ask you some questions. Do you like Frozen?

Henry Smith: I do like Frozen, but I like other films better I think. But it’s alright.

Chris Oxlade: I like Frozen as well. There’s lots of good characters.

Alana: Who’s your favourite character?

Chris Oxlade: The reindeer.

Henry Smith: The mammoth with the big tusks.

Alana: What should we do about the NAS? (NHS)

Henry Smith: I think lots of money should be spent on it so people can be treated properly in our hospitals by doctors

Chris Oxlade: When people are sick, they want to be treated quickly. People want to be seen by their doctor on the same day or the next day.

Alana: Are you going on a summer holiday?

Chris Oxlade: Hopefully this year yes, it depends what happens in the next few weeks.

Henry Smith: I’m hoping to go to Cornwall for a week to make sandcastles on the beach.

Alana: Should we have a referendum?

Henry Smith: I think the people of this country should get a chance to say if we should be in Europe or not.

Chris Oxlade: I think we should try and make things a lot better before we ask people if they want to stay in or out of Europe.

Alana: Would you look to see my new party trick? (Alana touches her nose with her tongue)
