A MAN has been jailed after he stabbed another man in the leg before threatening others while armed with a knife.
Mostafa Al-Saidi, 25, of Akehurst Close, Hellingly, Hailsham, stabbed the man in the leg in The Drive, Hellingly, last May 20.
Three days later he brandished a knife to threaten two women in the churchyard in Hailsham town centre.
About 40 minutes after that he also used a knife to threaten staff at Simpsons Chickens takeaway in High Street, Hailsham.
Later that evening, he threatened a food delivery driver in The Drive, Hellingly, saying he had a gun.
Appearing at Lewes Crown Court on April 14, he admitted grievous bodily harm, two counts of possessing a bladed article and affray, and attempted robbery.
He was jailed for nine years and nine months.
Detective Constable Sean Stapley said: "His sentence reflects the seriousness of the offences and sends a message that violent crime will not be tolerated."
