Today was busy for Sussex lifeboat crews, towing in three broken down boats.

A crew from Selsey was launched at 9am to rescue seven people stranded on a broken down boat.

The 30ft vessel had problems with its gearbox.

In a six-hour operation, the boat was towed from somewhere south of Selsey Bill back into Littlehampton Marina.

Slightly farther east, a smaller pleasure craft had to be towed in by Shoreham lifeboat.

The 16ft Bowrider speedboat had three people onboard when it broke down about a mile out.

Finally, in Eastbourne, a yacht called The Eximus had to be towed two miles back to shore after getting into difficulties at 4pm.
