A WANTED man seen driving through Brighton was caught when he was involved in a crash with a taxi.
On Saturday police saw an Audi A6 being driven by Jacques Challoner Venneck in Bristol Gardens at 9.35pm.
The 24-year-old, of no fixed address, was wanted for recall to prison after breaching his licensing conditions last month.
Police gave chase through Hartington Road after the Audi failed to stop. But at the junction with Lewes Road the Audi crashed with a red Kia taxi. The driver and passengers suffered minor injuries.
Venneck was arrested nearby.
A police spokesman said he has now been charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and driving document offences. He has been remanded in custody as he waits to appear in court.
Venneck was sentenced to three years imprisonment in April 2013 for robbery and burglary.
