I was perplexed to read your headline for the article about the continuing debate over Valley Gardens (Councillor Alex Phillips says she will ‘create havoc’ for Labour in leaked emails, May 15). Earlier this week your columnist Tim Ridgway predicted the Greens elected to Brighton and Hove City Council would “cause havoc” for Labour. Your headline today suggested this comment originated with Ms Phillips. In fact, a close reading of the article showed Ms Phillips's original comment was in response to Tim Ridgway’s column.
It’s crucial everyone elected to Brighton and Hove Council works in the best interest of the people.
Embracing this £14 million investment in the city centre for the creation of a new park will bring £40 million of benefits to residents, visitors and businesses. I hope members of all parties will work hard to make it happen.
