CHARITY fundraisers will tackle a pier-to-pier walk in aid of youngsters fighting life-threatening illnesses.
Last year dozens of people walked more than 12 miles between Brighton’s Palace Pier and Worthing pier in a bid to raise £10,000 for William Pedersen – a five-year-old Worthing boy who has a tumour on his brain.
This year the same group of ‘Walk for William’ fundraisers will walk in aid of Tyler’s Trust – a local charity that supports Tyler Ellis, 16, who also has a brain tumour, and other youngsters with similar conditions across the south.
Participants hope to raise a similar figure to last year’s walk and are calling for as many people as possible to get involved.
Organiser Gemma Maryon, mum of William Pedersen, said: “Tyler’s Trust is a wonderful local charity that provides gift boxes for children with brain tumours, or a life-threatening illness, in the Chichester, Worthing and Portsmouth area.
“Tyler’s Trust was there for William. Now here’s an opportunity to recognise and repay their kindness – and to help them aid other children and their families.”
The walk takes place on Saturday, May 16, and starts in Brighton at 9.30am.
