Crawley Town fans have been praised by police for their behaviour during the football season.

Sussex Police said there were only four ejections from Crawley's Checkatrade.com Stadium and one arrest - and they were all away fans.

PC Darren Balkham, football liaison officer for Sussex and Surrey police, said: "It's been a pleasure working with the club and especially its supporters this season and we share their disappointment in seeing them relegated.

"The record of no arrests and no ejections has to be applauded and I doubt if there are many other professional clubs in England who can make the same claim. We look forward to renewed success next season and the continued excellent support and behaviour from their fans."

Crawley Town chief executive Michael Dunford said: "On behalf of the club I would like to thank all our supporters who have given the club such great backing home and away this season and behaved impeccably.

"These statistics only serve to strengthen the view that the Checkatrade.com Stadium is a safe and enjoyable environment for people to watch football."
