THE artists behind a free exhibition highlighting our use of water have hailed the “tremendous response” from visitors.
Sound artists Madeleine Flynn and Tim Humphrey made the trip over from Australia to put on Gauge at the Old Municipal Market in Brighton. The piece also sees the involvement of two other artists – Graeme Leak and Cameron Robbins.
The exclusive work for Brighton Festival, which finished yesterday, has seen thousands pay a visit to look at the objects on show.
Ms Flynn said: “We didn’t know Brighton beforehand but the people here are curious. We have had many different conversations about water as a resource.”
The pair met more than 7,000 people while the exhibition was on.
Mr Humphrey added: “We have had a tremendous response.”
The objects in the exhibition included an open piano being played by water droplets and a swirling mist pool.
