CHILDREN got to see their playground transformed into a colourful paradise thanks to a campaign by their parents and teachers.
The playground at West Hove Infant School was given a makeover thanks to the efforts of the parent-teacher association (PTA) who have been fundraising to bring the schoolyard to life.
Jo French, a parent and one of the members of the PTA, said everyone is “thrilled” with the results and hopes other schools can use a similar fundraising model to spruce up their playgrounds. The 47-year-old said: “There was a lot of parent power from a small team who came up with some ideas – speaking to the children and teachers it all sort of came together. It is really colourful and bright place for the children to spend their play time in. They love it and the bunting creates a really festive atmosphere.”
Parents raised money using raffles, fairs and discos to fund the revamp.
