A DRIVER has suffered a serious head injury after a Vauxhall Astra crashed into a lampost and tree.
The black car was travelling northbound crashed at the junction with Woodlands Avenue, Rustington, at about 9.50am today and then left the road in Ash Lane.
The 26-year-old man from Worthing who was driving the Astra was flown to St George's Hospital in London suffering from a serious head injury.
The road has been closed between the junctions with The Street and the Mill Lane roundabout. The road is expected to be reopened at about 12.30pm.
