Tens of thousands of music fans will gather for one of the biggest and most lucrative events in a town’s history this weekend.

Wild Life festival, spearheaded by British music heavyweights Disclosure and Rudimental, comes to Shoreham Airport on Saturday and Sunday.

Despite headline act Sam Smith pulling out following vocal cord surgery, around 35,000 people are expected at the airfield for the weekend of live music.

There will be four different stages for partygoers to pick from when doors open at 2pm on Saturday.

On the first day the likes of Rudimental, Nas, Mark Ronson and George Ezra will take over main stage duties, while lauded producers and DJs including Maya Jane Coles, Heidi, Adam Beyer and Skream will entertain in the Warehouse Project tent.

On Sunday, electronic music duo Disclosure will headline the main stage with hip-hop legends Wu-Tang Clan and DJ Annie Mac.

Annie Mac has been sending out tweets as she looks forward to her performances this weekend.

In the Warehouse Project tent, techno supremo Seth Troxler will be joined by Julio Bashmore, Paul Woolford, Eats Everything and more.

Drum and Bass musician Andy C heads proceedings in the Treatment vs Bedlam tent.

Main stage acts finish at 11pm on both days, though on Saturday other stages will continue until 1am and on Sunday until midnight.

There will be no public transport after each night – so visitors are asked to ensure they have transport arranged or tickets booked for the festival’s official shuttle buses.

A Wild Life spokeswoman said: “The concert promoters and festival partners are working with Adur and Worthing Council and Sussex Police to ensure the two-day event is safe, successful and enjoyable for everyone from festival-goers to the local community.”

For residents, there will be an active community information line leading up to and over the weekend.

This will inform householders who have any concerns or queries.

The number is 01273 461982 and will be active from midday to 2am each day.

A contracted cleaning company will be on site throughout the day.

The official Twitter account @WILD_LIFE_FEST will be providing all the latest travel, event information and announcements. The official hashtag will be #WILDLIFE15.

A mobile app will also be available to download, and will keep ticket holders up to date with important information about the festival.
