A WANTED man was arrested at a car wash by officers carrying out a people trafficking operation.

While carrying out checks in Brighton and Hove, officers stopped Romanian man Attila Gall at a car wash in Hove yesterday.

After checking his details against national databases, it was discovered that the 33-year-old was the subject of a European Arrest Warrant for a number of offences in Hungary including assaults.

Gall, of Connaught Road, Hove, was then arrested and taken to Westminster Magistrates' Court where his extradition case will be considered.

Sergeant Rob Lewis said: "The arrest followed good work by officers to carry out extensive checks that led to the identification of the man as being wanted on warrant."
