A DRIVER found slumped over his steering wheel in one of the busiest roads in Brighton is among the latest to be arrested during a police crackdown.

Gary McCue was arrested at 2.10am on Saturday after officers found him slumped over his steering wheel in Marine Parade, Brighton.

The 51-year-old, of Manor Way in Brighton, was charged with drink-driving and remanded in custody to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court today.

He is among four people to have been charged over the weekend with offences as part of Sussex Police's June crackdown on drink and drug-driving.

They also include Andrzej Janas, who was arrested at 11.40pm on Sunday after he stopped his vehicle for no reason in Felpham Way, Bognor.

The 35-year-old, of The Steyne in Bognor, was charged with drink-driving and released on bail to appear at Worthing Magistrates' Court on July 16.

Bahri Fiigioli, 29 of Holburne Road in London, who was arrested at 9.45pm on Sunday at Pease Pottage services because officers were concerned about his erratic driving, has been charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis and driving without a licence.

Terence Rosen, 57 of Bennetts Road in Horsham, will appear at Worthing Magistrates' Court on July 16 after his arrest at 10.45pm on Sunday when police saw him driving in High Street in Storrington with a faulty light.
