A SUSSEX family is among those still waiting for news about loved ones feared killed in the beach massacre in Tunisia.

John and Janet Stocker have not been heard from since the killings on Friday at the resort in Sousse where they were staying.

Their grandson, Sam Stocker, from Crawley, has been posting pictures of the couple online to try and track them down but as The Argus went to press last night there had been no news.

The couple, from south London, had gone to the resort for a holiday and had only been there a few days when Seifeddine Rezgui opened fire on the beach with a Kalashnikov, killing 38 people.

The terrorist group Islamic State has claimed responsibility.

Mr Stocker’s son, Mark, told CNN he had heard from the couple while they were in Tunisia.

He added: “They were having a lovely time. The weather was great, just relaxing.

“It’s like they disappeared.”

Authorities have said they believe up to 30 Britons were killed in the attack on Friday.

Only 18 have been identified so far.

Officials are having trouble identifying all those who have been killed or wounded because many were on the beach sunbathing without any identification.

Two people thought to be victims of the gunman were yesterday morning tracked down alive and well in the UK, according to a spokeswoman for the Prime Minister.

She added that UK authorities were “working closely” with relatives of those killed to offer help with the repatriation of the bodies.

Some are expected to be brought home this week.

There will be a nationwide minute’s silence at midday on Friday to remember the victims.

Mr Cameron said: “I know the whole country will want to share in a moment of remembrance.”

Speaking to the media, he said the Government is working “as fast as we can” to get information to families still waiting for news of missing loved ones.

He added: “I know it has taken time but these are very difficult things and we must get them right.”
