A HISTORIC railway came to a temporary stop because of bees on the line.

Services on the Volk’s Railway on Brighton seafront were suspended this morning after a swarm of bees took up residence around a bush very close to the railway line.

Fortunately a beekeeper was quickly on scene to clear away the swarm and allow normal service to resume.

The world’s oldest running electrical railway is holding a number of late-night services this summer including until 8pm on July 26 and August 30 and until 7pm on September 20.
