A DOG on the line caused chaos for train services.
The animal was spotted on the line in the Portslade area yesterday afternoon but it evaded attempts by Southern Rail staff and British Transport Police to catch it.
The small dog was apparently injured and reportedly snapped and tried to bite staff who were trying to grab it.
Passengers faced delays of more than an hour with trains backed up between Portslade and Goring before the animal was finally removed.
The disruption lasted through yesterday evening’s rush hour.
