AN ELDERLY driver had her driving licence revoked after failing a sight test following an accident.

Four cars were involved in the accident on the westbound carriageway of the A27, near the Sussex Pad Hotel in Lancing.

Drivers and passengers in all the cars involved suffered minor injuries.

The elderly driver’s sight was tested at the scene and officers discovered she could only see just more than seven metres.

West Sussex traffic police said on Twitter: “Vehicle shunt A27 Shoreham. Eyesight test on elderly driver 7.3m. Licence will be revoked today.”

The accident happened at about 12.50pm yesterday and the road reopened shortly after 2.30pm.
