POSH and Becks, Ricky Gervais and Gordon Ramsay have been sampling the Sussex seaside ahead of a new Channel 4 programme.

The megastars tucked into fish and chips together in Eastbourne.

But all is not as it seems.

The stars were in fact a gang of celebrity doppelgangers set to feature in a new fly-on-the-wall reality programme about a lookalike agency.

The one-off 30 minute show follows the antics of a group from Lookalikes – a firm run by David Beckham lookalike Andy Harmer.

The so-called ‘structured reality’ programme follows the crew as they try and juggle their normal lives with those of their famous alter egos.

Mr Harmer, who has been a Beckham lookalike for 17 years, said: “It’s like a cross between The Office, Extras, Made in Chelsea meets the lookalike industry.

“It shows how celebrity affects us. For example when a character goes out of popularity, like Rolf Harris perhaps, it shows what that can do to the career of a lookalike.

“It’s been a long time coming because I’ve always said there should be a show for lookalikes.”

In the show, Gordon Ramsay dead ringer Martin Jordan is outed as a terrible cook and admits in the show that the only dish he has mastered is shepherd’s pie.

Meanwhile, Ricky Gervais double Tim Oliver acts just like David Brent, Gervais’s character from The Office.

Mr Hamer is joined on the show by Camilla Shadbolt, a Victoria Beckham double, who is originally from Lewes.

The agency’s other characters include Barack Obama, Harry Styles, Simon Cowell, Ed Sheeran and Naomi Campbell.

In 2010 its members entered Britain’s Got Talent as ‘The Chippendoubles’ and reached the semi-finals.

Harmer himself has toured the world as David Beckham’s double and has even starred in film shoots alongside the real deal.

Announcing the show, Channel 4’s head of formats Dom Bird said: “This is a unique proposition, blurring the lines between fact and fiction.

“The lookalikes, their lives and jobs are all real. But where their personalities end and their celebrity alter egos begin is anyone’s guess.”

Lookalikes is on Channel 4 on Monday, July 20, at 10pm.
