A man was thrown to the ground, punched and kicked in a late night street robbery.

Police are seeking anyone who may have information about a street robbery in Bognor Regis on Sunday, July 11.

It happened between 11.15pm and 11.30pm in an alleyway between Normanton Avenue and Marshall Avenue.

The victim was a 20-year-old man from Bognor Regis who was approached from behind and attacked.

His assailants snatched a black iPhone 6+ from his hands and ran off in the direction of Bognor Regis Football Club. The victim sustained minor bruising.

He had earlier passed the club where he noticed two people sitting on a wall, wearing dark hooded tops and smelling strongly of cannabis.

Detective Constable Andrea Watts, of Chichester CID, said: "Unfortunately, there have been several similar incidents in Bognor recently.

"While it's not clear if they are linked, people should be aware and use well-lit areas, keep valuables out of sight and let us know of anything suspicious."

In relation to the alleyway incident, anyone who may have seen what happened, who has been offered an iPhone in suspicious circumstances or who may have other information is also asked to get in touch.

They can do so by emailing 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phoning 101, quoting serial 16 of July 13.

Alternatively they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers without having to leave their name on 0800 555 111.

In emergency, call 999 and ask for police.
