A lorry carrying asparargus overturned and shed its load after a collision with a garden wall. 

Police are warning motorists to expect delays on the A27 after a lorry overturned in Chichester this morning (July 29).

Officers were called to the A259 Bognor Road at around 2.30am.

A lorry carrying fresh produce collided with a garden wall. The driver was taken to St Richard's Hospital in Chichester but was not seriously injured.

The A259 is currently closed between the Bognor Road roundabout and Florence Road.

The lorry will be escorted to Shoreham this morning at 9.30am which may cause further delays along the A27.

No arrests have been made and it is not known when the A259 will reopen.
