A HOMELESS man tried to guide a huge 10-wheeler out of a tight spot after it had become stuck in The Lanes.
The lorry was trying to negotiate the junction of Black Lion Street and Prince Albert Street, Brighton, when it ran into trouble.
It almost ended up through the window of restaurant Food for Friends around midday yesterday.
Eventually police officers were able to help direct the vehicle out.
Apart from a hanging basket which was knocked off its hook, there were no reports of damage or injuries.
The drama saw diners and shoppers stop to take pictures as traffic came to a standstill with the junction blocked.
