A man in a wheelchair who fell onto a railway line remains in "stable condition" in hospital this morning.
The 40-year-old man, from Littlehampton, fell onto the line at West Worthing on yesterday afternoon and 4pm.
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “We were called to West Worthing rail station shortly before 4pm on Thursday July 30, after a report of a person on the tracks.
“Officers from BTP and paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene.
“A 40-year-old man, from Littlehampton, was safely removed from the tracks and taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
“Officers are treating the incident as an accident.”
