Three people have been arrested after a "large number of tickets" were stolen from Glorious Goodwood.
Police are seeking witnesses to an incident at this year's race meeting near Chichester in which a of tickets were stolen.
They were taken from the ticket collection point at the downland racecourse, part of the Goodwood estate, between noon and 12.30pm on Saturday.
Investigating officers believe that some people among crowds thronging to the event may have seen the theft taking place.
They ask that they, or anyone else who may have information, contact police by emailing 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phoning 101, quoting serial 739 of August 1.
Three men, all from London, have been arrested in connection with the incident, questioned and bailed until 15 September pending further enquiries.
A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft and money laundering, a 21-year-old man on suspicion of theft and a 20-year-old man on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
