EVER thought your semi-detached Victorian house was a little dull?

If so, this newly renovated, stylish grade II-listed windmill could be the answer to your prayers - for just £650,000.

On the brink of disrepair, this historical windmill in Barnham, rich with culture, has received a much needed make-over.

While once a working mill, it now boasts a modern kitchen, four bedrooms and a reception room.

John Baker’s Mill, a local landmark since 1829, was used to grind flour to make bread until 1963, when the family decided to sell the property.

It was empty for years, falling into ruin, until Barry Lee bought the Mill with the intent to transform the property into tearooms.

But after a row over parking and a second unsuccessful attempt to turn the Mill into historic building apartments, Barnham’s most famous historical landmark was at risk of being lost forever.

However, in 2008, Arun District Council gave Listed Building Consent for the windmill to be converted.

Despite strong opposition from the Society for the Protection of Ancient Building, in 2014, Baker’s Mill fell into the hands of property developer, Andy Rush.

It was Andy and his team at Bolrush Developments, who converted the striking property into the family home it, is today.

Stephen Magee, from Winkworth, said: “This striking property has been painstakingly converted to form the centrepiece of a small, select development.

“The Grade II- listed windmill oozes character with restored sails and many of the original workings retained.

“A turnkey restoration by Bolrush Developments, an award winning company well versed in unique buildings, had led to the creation of this stunning abode.”

The Mill is situated just under a mile away from Barnham village, a semi-rural, railway town in the Arun district of West Sussex.
