TRIBUTES have continued to come in from brides who met wedding chauffeur Maurice Abrahams.

Rebecca Huls has told how he organised flowers out of the goodness of his heart for her wedding on June 24, 2011.

The 31-year-old, who grew up in Brighton but moved to Atlanta with her American husband Joe, was driven to the service at St Margaret’s, Rottingdean, and to the following reception at Buxted Park by Mr Abrahams.

She said: “We were honoured enough to have Maurice drive us four years ago. He drove my bridesmaids and I from Buxted to Rottingdean before the service and then my husband and I back to Buxted after the service. So I got to chat with him quite a bit.

“He was wonderfully kind to us on our wedding day. He told us he added a floral arrangement in the back of his Daimler for free because he thought it would look nice. He took a wrong turn on the way to our reception and we all laughed in the car about the bride and groom not showing up.

“You really couldn’t meet a more perfect man for the job he did. He was a professional, kind and a calming soul.”

She said her heart sank when she saw pictures of the damaged Daimler on the news, adding: “My heart is with my hometown.”

Many couples have said Mr Abrahams’ wife Edwina helped with flower arrangements for the weddings.
