A PETITION to rename the Shoreham Tollbridge the Bridge of Flowers in memory of the victims of the air show disaster has received more than 2,000 supporters.
Families, friends and residents are planning how best to honour the 11 people who died when the stunt jet crashed while at the Shoreham Airshow.
The Shoreham Tollbridge crosses the river Adur and has become a focal point for grief as thousands of flowers have been laid in memory of those who died.
With a number of suggestions the Change.org petition is one of the first united calls for a memorial and more than 2,000 people have already signed it.
People who signed described it as a “fitting change” and as “a beautiful way for people of all generations to remember the people who were lost”.
Previous suggestions included a memorial plaque, engraving the names of the dead on the bridge, and installing rainbow coloured glass panels in memory of the bank of bouquets which have laid there this week.
