TRIBUTES have been paid to a young mother-of-two who was stabbed to death at her home.

Flowers were laid and candles lit outside the flat of suspected murder victim Lauren Masters, 20, after her death on Friday.

A man known to her has been charged with her murder and was due to appear in court yesterday, police said.

Messages remembering the former Bexhill High student were left among flowers outside her home in Farnleigh Court, Sutherland Avenue, Bexhill.

One remembered her “smile, laugh, loudness and humour,” adding: “Just you being you was loved and will always be missed.

“But we will always cherish the time and love spent together. I want you to know that your two gorgeous little boys are going to grow up and be so proud of their mummy. You’re amazing.”

Another read: “Rest in peace. It was never your time to be taken from us all. You will be truly missed and never forgotten by friends and family.”

A resident of the block of flats said neighbours were in shock at what had happened, adding he did not know Miss Masters well but would greet her coming in and out of the building.

Friends are now using social media to raise money to help support her two young children.

Since Friday, £1,135 has been raised via a gofundme.com page set up to help provide some “financial stability” for the boys, with 83 donations, including many from strangers.

One of the donors, Michelle Liddle, wrote on the site: “They face a lifetime without their mother’s support and love. Bless their little hearts.”

Another donor, Laura Gatenny, wrote: “I didn't know Lauren personally but when I read this story it touched me. I hope these beautiful boys get all the help they need.”

Meanwhile a separate page on Just Giving.com has also been set up to try and raise £750 for the two boys.

Its creator, Jon Behan, told The Argus he was a member of the local community who wanted to help.

A Sussex Police spokesman said they were called to a report of a disturbance at the flat at 1.35pm on Friday, and said Miss Masters died from a stab wound at the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

Paul Withers, 21, from Bexhill, has been charged with murder and was due to appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court yesterday (Monday), police said.
