A VAN driver was taken to hospital after her vehicle collided with a car, left the road and crashed into bushes.
Fire crews spent an hour using hydraulic cutting gear to get the 48-year-old Lancing woman out of her red Vauxhall Combo.
The accident happened yesterday at about 4.45pm on the A259 Brighton Road in Lancing, 80 metres west of its junction with Western Road.
The driver suffered whiplash and taken to Worthing Hospital by ambulance paramedics for treatment.
A 74-year-old man from Portslade driving the other car, a silver Volkswagen Golf, was unhurt.
