A PERSON has died after being hit by a train.
British Transport Police officers were called to the railway line close to Fishersgate Station after reports that a person had been stuck by a train.
Medics from the ambulance service attended on Friday just after 9pm but the casualty was pronounced dead.
The train involved was a westbound Haywards Heath to Littlehampton service and it is understood the person involved was on the platform before being struck.
A BTP spokeswoman said: "The death is currently being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
