CHEF Matt Gillan is representing the South East in elite gastronomic TV show Great British Menu.

The Michelin starred chef of The Pass restaurant at the South Lodge Hotel in Lower Beeding, near Horsham, saw off London rivals to triumph in the regional heat.

The regional champion is now competing with rival chefs from across the UK for a chance to cook at a WI Centenary Banquet.

The talented chef, of Horsham, received high praise from judges for his WI themed menu, including 10/10 from restaurateur Oliver Peyton.

Matt describes his food as progressive British, and trained under two-Michelin Star chef Daniel Clifford of Cambridge.

The Pass opened in 2008 with and has a Michelin star, 4 AA rosettes and myriad stunning reviews.

It is ranked 38th best restaurant in Britain in The Good Food Guide‘s prestigious Top 50 list.
