PERORMING arts students dazzled friends and family with a performance on a West End stage.

Those from Pauline Quirke Academy in Southwick performed Fright Night at Her Majesty’s Theatre London, home to Phantom of the Opera, as part of their curriculum.

They were all awarded distinctions in their Musical Theatre in Production exams with Trinity College London as a result of their performances.

Meanwhile students, from the academy which celebrated its fifth birthday in September at the Southwick Centre, enjoyed an afternoon at BBC Broadcasting House in October and had a go at reading the news or presenting.

Julian McDowell, the principal at the academy, is currently appearing as Kenneth Horne in the 50th anniversary touring production of Round The Horne with The Apollo Theatre Group. The show transfers to The Museum of Comedy's Cooper Theatre in London, in January 2016 for an eight week run.

The students at the academy are looking forward to visiting the venue in the new year.

PQA Southwick is enrolling now for January 2016. For more information please visit www.pqacademy.com
