A BAND with links to the group who were performing when the Paris terrorists struck has cancelled a European tour.

Mini Mansions were due to perform in Brighton later this week after dates in Birmingham, Manchester and London.

The band announced its decision not to appear at venues - including Patterns on Saturday - to fans on social media after the killings in Paris on Friday, November 13.

The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack, killing 130 people, including at least 89 fans enjoying an Eagles of Death Metal (EODM) show at The Bataclan concert hall.

Singer Josh Homme, of EODM, and bassist Michael Shuman, of Mini Mansions, were both members of the Queens of the Stone Age before the band's hiatus.

Instead the bar in Marine Parade will host DJs HNNY and Avalon Emerson from 11pm to 4am.

The announcement said: "The tragic events that took place in Paris have had a deep impact on the world, but have also deeply affected our own friends and crew in EODM, as well as many fans who attended that Paris show - so it is with heavy hearts that we have decided to cancel our upcoming European tour.

"This was a difficult decision to make, but after discussing with some loyal fans, friends, family and fellow musicians we feel this is the right thing for us to do at the moment. With confidence we can say that we will be back in the near future and enjoying each other's company."

The band also urged fans to donate to Mr Homme's Sweet Stuff Foundation, which is raising money for the families of the victims.

Until December 31 all donations made to the charity will go towards helping surviving family members of those who were killed by ISIS at The Bataclan and throughout the rest of the city.
