A SUSPICIOUS package in one of Brighton’s busiest streets turned out to be a traffic monitor for a council survey.

Sussex Police received calls of a suspicious metal box attached to a sign in West Street, Brighton, at about 12.30pm today.

Police officers said they swiftly established the box was part of a local authority traffic survey.

This year’s Pride parade was delayed by more than 90 minutes in August by a similar bomb scare which turned out to be a pinhole camera attached to a lamppost.
