SHOPPERS and youngsters were treated to a visit from Santa ahead of a charity bus tour.

Father Christmas was at Asda Holliingbury on Wednesday before stepping on the Santa Bus for its first circuit of Brighton and Hove's streets yesterday.

Asda Hollingbury is supporting the Argus Appeal and The Martlets Hospice by putting a collection bucket at the end of each checkout.

The Santa Bus will be raising money for both charities as it winds its way through the city's streets on another 15 occasions from 5.30pm.

Elsa Gillio of the Argus Appeal said: "This is the first time we have worked with Asda on the Santa Bus project and it's fantastic that Asda shoppers are joining in and raising funds for charity.

"We are also pleased to be adding an additional day to our Santa Bus schedule and our last stop will be Asda Hollingbury on Saturday, December 19, between 4pm and 6pm."
