Benjamin Clementine
St George’s Church, St George’s Road, Brighton, Thursday, December 3, 7pm, £18.50, 01273 606312
PERHAPS unsurprisingly after his success at the Mercury Music Prize last Friday tickets are beginning to fly out of the door for this show.
It will be Clementine’s second visit to the city this year, having showcased his stunning voice and keyboard skills as part of the Brighton Festival in May.
At the time he told Adrian Imms: “I just see myself as a boy who has something to say, something on his chest and he just wants to say it. I didn’t think for once that I would make money out of it.”
Having started out busking on the Paris Metro the success of his debut album At Least For Now has taken him to a whole new level – this could be his last intimate show for some time.
