A MYSTERIOUS fire broke out in the early hours which ended up smashing a window at the back of a house.
Firefighters from Preston Circus Community Fire Station were called to a house in Solway Avenue in Patcham to reports of a fire at the rear of a house at 5.10am today.
The occupiers had dialled 999 after hearing a window smash, but the fire had started outside the building.
A crew member said: “They were having building works done and the fire occurred in some debris, so the fire started outside.
“There was some damage to the rear window and part of the flat roof.”
Having extinguished the fire, the firefighters left the scene at 6.15am.
