Fans of internet sensations Zoe Sugg and her boyfriend Alfie Deyes have leapt to the couple’s defence in their privacy row.

On Monday we revealed the video bloggers had asked people to “find better hobbies” and “go away” after they got fed up with fans turning up at their house.

They made a plea for privacy claiming their £1 million home was being mobbed by supporters trying to take photos outside, some sitting on their parents' shoulders to get photos of their garden.

Although die hard fans showed sympathy to the couple who have forged a career from opening up their private lives to the public, there were some who have been less sympathetic.

Kelly Scott said: “I'm sorry, I appreciate that they have a right to privacy, but they also rely on these same fans to provide a pay cheque. Do what all the other celebs with a large young fan base do and pay for security to move these people on.

“No, you shouldn't have to, but these are the small prices you pay for opening up yourself to the public eye.”

Another Argus reader Michael Hedges said: “Why do other millionaires not have this problem?

“Oh yeah, 'cos they don't sell their soul for money.

"They film their lives to fund their income, what do they expect?”

Thousands of messages were sent in support of the couple's plea for privacy.

Deyes tweeted a picture of The Argus article to his nearly three million followers.
One of the many staunch defenders of the overnight celebrities Soffi Edwards tweeted: “Alfie and Zoe do not deserve this.

“I wish sometimes we all had an invisible house as then nobody would peak in! I’m sorry if I offended anyone.”

Zoe, 25, known to her followers as Zoella, runs her YouTube channel from the property and the pair have 15 million subscribers.

She bought the £1 million five bedroomed house – a 1.1 mile road with 95 properties - with her 22-year-old boyfriend in February.
