A WOMAN is in hospital after a serious collision on the M23.
The 68-year-old from Suffolk was travelling southbound on the motorway in a blue Mazda when her car crashed into the central reservation.
The accident happened near to junction 10A of the M23 near Maidenbower, Crawley, at 11.35am on Thursday (February 4).
The driver was airlifted to St George's Hospital in London.
A Sussex Police spokesman said the woman is believed to be in a serious but stable condition
The motorway was closed southbound for recovery work but reopened at around 2.30pm.
Sergeant Bryan McCartney of Sussex Police said: "We would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened."
