A GERMAN Shepherd who was dognapped when crooks made off with her owners van has been found.
The nine-year-old pup's owner, painter and decorator Neil Edmonson, told The Argus he was delighted she had been found no worse for her experience.
Sussex Police called Mr Edmonson at 1am yesterday morning to let him know they had found his red Fiat Diablo van, along with Indie, in York Place, Hove.
The 54-year-old said: “It was quite emotional to be reunited and we were both really pleased but really tired.
"I was so pleased to get her back home and just be done with the worrying."
“We were out just driving around looking for her round Sussex and my friend showed me The Argus story and I think it really helped – so thank you to the paper."
He added: "I was just sort of drifting off and then waking up again sitting on the sofa. I jumped out of my skin when the phone rung, whatever the news I just wanted to know."
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the van between the time it was stolen with Indie inside around 10.15am on Tuesday in Cumberland Road, Brighton, and when it was found.
Anyone with information should email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 440 of 09/02.
